We are delighted to be involved with this fabulous project celebrating 200 years of the Battle of Waterloo.
This book not only lists the 36,000 British soldiers who took part in the battle but also as part of the Waterloo200 project, enables descendants to provide anecdotal information and photographs of relevant memorabilia against their ancestor. This will provide a lasting record and testimony for generations to come.
Furthermore, from an educational point of view, 200 schools in the UK will be researching a soldier and submitting to a separate book their findings. The 200 schools are going to be asked to record their research into 200 artefacts from the battles thus combining to make this an educational project. On the 15th of June a special service will be taking place at St. Paul’s where representatives from each school involved will be invited to attend. At that time they will also be invited to record the details of their special day in a Visitors Chapter. This book will then be made public.
