The Queen’s 90th Birthday Celebration
The Queen’s birthday celebrations continued on Sunday 16th May with a ‘90th birthday extravaganza’ in the grounds of Windsor Castle.
The Queen and Prince Philip made their entrance in a stunning horse-drawn Scottish state coach. Other members of the Royal family in attendance where The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Harry, Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall and Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie. Also in attendance was The King of Bahrain and Prince Donatus, Landgrave of Hesse, who accompanied the Royal Family on the front row.
When it comes to The Queen’s birthday present, “just make sure it includes lots and lots of horses.” The spectacular, glitzy celebration featured 900 horses, elegantly performing in honour of The Queen. Some of the riders included Princess Anne, Prince Edward, Zara Tindall and Lady Louise Mountbatten, who took part in the parade. The Queen was pictured looking absolutely delighted.
Hosting the gala celebration was the famous Ant and Dec as well as narrations from Alan Titchmarsh. The event also held some spectacular performances from Gary Barlow, Imelda Staunton, Dame Helen Mirren, Katherine Jenkins, Beverly Knight, James Blunt, Kylie Minogue, Jess Glynne and closed with Dame Shirley Bassey singing ‘Diamonds are forever’.
The Queen’s Birthday Book really represents what this event is all about, which is the coming together of talented, passionate people in honour of The Queen’s 90th. The book has received messages from many fellow equestrians, and celebrities such as Alan Titchmarsh.
